Every property currently available for rent in Rio de Janeiro through Oabitat is listed on this page: apartments, penthouses and houses offered on long-term residential contracts, most of them in Ipanema and the surrounding Zona Sul. These are unfurnished and furnished homes let for a year or more under a Brazilian residential lease, not holiday lets. If you are looking for a few weeks by the beach rather than a place to live, the section on rental types below explains why that is a different contract entirely.
Use the search above to filter by neighbourhood, monthly rent, size and bedrooms. Everything you need to know before you sign — the three contract types, what rent costs in each neighbourhood, the guarantee every landlord asks for and how renting works for a foreigner — is in our guide to apartments for rent in Rio de Janeiro. If you would rather buy than rent, see apartments for sale in Rio de Janeiro.
