With an international background and early professional exposure in Europe, David developed a strong interest in global markets and cross-border investments. He studied International Business at Maastricht University of applied sciences, building a solid foundation in finance, strategy, and international transactions.

After relocating to Rio de Janeiro, he gained firsthand experience with the complexities of acquiring real estate in Brazil, particularly from an international investor’s perspective. This insight led him to establish a more structured and transparent approach to property transactions for foreign clients.

As Founder and CEO of Oabitat, David focuses on sourcing high-quality real estate opportunities and facilitating efficient, secure transactions. He combines his international expertise with in-depth local market knowledge to support clients in identifying and acquiring property in Rio de Janeiro, both for personal use and investment purposes.

With a strong academic background in Business and Economics and a career shaped by international consulting, and deep property experience from private projects, Stefan Mauerer has developed a strategic and results-driven approach to business advisory, and supports our team and key clients at request. He graduated from the University of Regensburg, where he built a solid foundation in management, finance, and analytical problem-solving, laying the groundwork for a global professional trajectory.

Stefan spent several years at Boston Consulting Group, where he advised leading companies on complex strategic, operational, and organizational challenges. His work across more than 20 countries, covering Brazil, China, Japan, South Africa, Russia, India and others, has given him a deep understanding of diverse markets, cross-cultural dynamics, and the drive for pragmatic solutions in rapidly evolving environments. After some years as CFO of an industrial company, he now supports businesses with his expertise.

Stefan also brings valuable experience in real estate gained from own investment projects in Brazil and Europe, supporting us as an external advisor with a pragmatic and opportunity-focused perspective. Known for his structured thinking, international outlook, and ability to translate strategy into execution, he plays a key role in improving our operational excellence and identifying business opportunities.

With a strong connection to Rio de Janeiro and its vibrant lifestyle, Mayra Carvalhaes has built her professional path by combining strategy, hospitality, and excellence in guest experience.

Holding a degree in Marketing and working in the real estate market since 2019, she has developed an approach focused on positioning, performance, and relationship management. Her work in the short-term rental segment is defined by attention to detail, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of both national and international audiences.

As Director of Short-Term Rentals at Oabitat, Mayra is committed to elevating the standard of each property, ensuring consistency, organization, and experiences that reflect the very best of Rio de Janeiro. For her, real estate goes beyond operations — it is about translating the Carioca lifestyle with professionalism, authenticity, and care.

With a solid academic foundation in Law and a career rooted in Rio de Janeiro’s legal landscape, Vicente Sobrino Pôrto Neto has developed a structured and analytical approach to legal practice. He graduated in Law from PUC-Rio, where he focused on constitutional control mechanisms within the Brazilian judicial system, reflecting an early interest in complex legal frameworks and procedural strategy.

Since 2015, Vicente has been a Partner at Thomé Torres & Labanca Advogados, where he advises clients across a range of legal matters, combining technical rigor with a pragmatic understanding of business and institutional needs. His work is characterized by precision, reliability, and a commitment to delivering clear and effective legal solutions.

Fluent in Portuguese and equipped with working proficiency in English and Spanish, Vicente operates in both domestic and international contexts. Through his role, he contributes to strengthening client relationships and ensuring high standards of legal counsel, supporting individuals and organizations navigating Brazil’s legal environment with confidence and clarity.
