2026 Festival de Inverno in Rio: Dates, Lineup and Where to Stay

O 2026 Festival de Inverno in Rio de Janeiro returns between July 24 and August 2, 2026, bringing six nights of live music to the spectacular Marina da Glória. Now in its ninth edition, the festival has become one of Rio de Janeiro’s most anticipated cultural events, attracting music lovers from across Brazil and abroad.
Unlike many festivals that focus on a single musical style, Festival de Inverno Rio celebrates the diversity of Brazilian music. Throughout two weekends, visitors can enjoy performances ranging from MPB and rock to pop, samba, rap and funk, all while overlooking Guanabara Bay.
Because the festival takes place during Rio’s winter, visitors also benefit from one of the city’s most pleasant seasons. Mild temperatures, sunny days and lower humidity create ideal conditions for combining concerts with sightseeing, beach days and outdoor activities.

Why Visit Rio During the Festival?
July is one of the most comfortable months to explore Rio de Janeiro. Winter brings pleasant temperatures, lower rainfall and excellent conditions for spending time outdoors.
During the day, temperatures generally range between 23°C and 28°C. Evenings become cooler, making a light jacket useful for open-air concerts at Marina da Glória.
Beyond the festival itself, visitors can enjoy quieter beaches, clearer views from Rio’s famous viewpoints and a lively restaurant scene throughout the South Zone. As a result, many travelers choose to extend their stay before or after the concerts.
